Occupational therapy student supervisors for 6 and 10 week blocks (June/July and October/November respectively:

• Residential Aged Care (Carlton) 3 days a week 
• Primary School (Ringwood) 2 days a week

These roles require enthusiastic clinicians to provide supervision to a group of students (10 students in a residential aged care facility; 7 students in a primary school).

Both facilities provide OT placements for students for 2 placement blocks - eight weeks in June/July and four weeks in October/November. The student supervisor role will include two additional weeks for pre-placement planning and report preparation attached to each block.

Role:

In a partnership with agency staff the Swinburne supervisor will:

•  liaise with university staff
•  negotiate with the agency to plan the student program
•  provide direct OT supervision during the placement.
•  consult with agency staff to prepare student reports
•  complete the student evaluations at midway and completion.

This position will suit someone with an interest in student supervision and occupational therapy education.

Essential requirements:

• Occupational therapy qualification and current registration with AHPRA
• Experience in student supervision
• Experience in working with older adults (for the first role)
• Experience in working with children and/or in schools (for the second role)
• Experience running group programs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Sound organizational and time management skills
