VIC: Divisional Council Nominations Now Open!

Occupational Therapy Australia is pleased to announce that nominations of members who ordinarily reside in Victoria are sought for members of the Divisional Council, Victoria. The term of office is two years. There are 2 Divisional Council positions available in Victoria.

Do you have:

  • a keen interest and knowledge of the Occupational Therapy profession;
  • a commitment to improving the practice of occupational therapy
  • the ability to provide input on a wide variety of matters affecting the profession, both at a local and national level.

As Australia's professional association for occupational therapy, Occupational Therapy Australia (OTA) fosters evidence-based practice, enables lifelong learning and promotes the future of occupational therapy. OTA exists to support occupational therapists to support their community. OTA is seeking a passionate, engaged, strategic thinkers in our community who want to enhance their career and make a positive difference in and to their profession.

Members who are interested in becoming part of the Victorian Divisional Council are encouraged to review the Occupational Therapy Australia Constitution and By laws which guide the business and operations of OTA and the Divisional Councils (available here) Please discuss any queries they may have with the Divisional Council Chair in the first instance. In order to facilitate this you are encouraged to send an email to the Divisional Manager (elise.halloran@otaus.com.au) outlining the questions that you have and your preferred method of contact from the Divisional Council Chair.

The Chair will provide background to issues raised and discussed during their tenure as Chair and the commitment required to Council as well as the expected benefits members can gain from being a Councillor.

The Divisional Manager will provide nominees with information about the focus of recent Divisional Council meetings and can advise administrative details including meeting frequency and duration.
