OVERVIEW:
Join Dr. Tina Champagne for a masterclass on mental health occupational therapists’ application of sensory modulation and correlations to trauma and attachment informed care practices to support the reduction and elimination of seclusion and restraint.  The masterclass is for occupational therapists who utilise sensory approaches in their practice. Applications for working with children, adults and older persons will be explored. Lived experience, and practice examples, and group discussions will be used to support learning and practice integration.

This event represents a significant step forward for occupational therapists following the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System. With the commission's call to action urging the Victorian Government to eliminate seclusion and restraint by 2031, the imperative to enhance mental health and wellbeing services across Victoria has never been clearer. In alignment with this mission, Tina Champagne's Sensory Modulation, and Trauma, and Attachment-Informed Care Masterclass in Melbourne emerges as a pivotal opportunity for occupational therapists. Tailored to support the leadership role of occupational therapists who seek to foster a deeper understanding and application of strategies for eliminating seclusion and restraint, this masterclass stands as a beacon in the journey towards transforming mental healthcare delivery throughout the state.
