According to their definition, 'sexuality' is an umbrella concept that includes many central aspects of being human, such as sexual activity, pleasure, reproduction, gender identity, sexual orientation, intimacy, and eroticism. The way in which clients experience or express their sexuality is unique and may be influenced by various determinants of health. It is imperative that occupational therapists are understanding and supportive of their clients' sexuality and there is growing awareness of the importance of working with clients on goals that aim to enhance their sexual wellbeing. Occupational therapy research and practice in the area of sexuality is rapidly expanding and this SIG provides an important avenue to acquire and disseminate knowledge.
