Early Career Researcher

Early Career Researcher Award

This award is one category of OTA's Research Awards, which acknowledge a member’s contribution towards the advancement of the research base of occupational therapy in four categories: early career researcher, mid career researcher, clinical researcher, and research team.

This category refers to research conducted by an occupational therapist prior to completion of their PhD or up to a maximum of four years’ academic research experience following the completion of their PhD, or be of equivalent professional standing.

Frequency: Biennial.
Prize: $500 and framed certificate.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants must be an occupational therapist who has completed research into aspect of occupational therapy practice, or research into issues relevant to occupational therapy, that has been published in the past two years.
  • Applicants must be a member of Occupational Therapy Australia for at least the last five continuous years (unless a student, where membership of OTA can be a year).
  • Applicants must be a resident of Australia.

Applications for this award are now open and close at 5:00pm (AEDT) on Friday, 14 February 2025. Application forms with additional documents as listed in the Guidelines are to be submitted to awards@otaus.com.au.
