Policy and Advocacy Update

OTA’s Policy and Advocacy stakeholder meetings over the last fortnight 

OTA’s Policy and Advocacy team regularly meets with stakeholders to discuss issues affecting the profession.  

Over the last fortnight we met with:  

  • Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) to continue engagement and discuss policy and advocacy areas of shared interest.   

  • Department of Health and Aged Care and Department of Social Services to discuss psychosocial supports.  

  • Australian Association of Psychologists (AAPI) to discuss policy and advocacy areas of shared interest.   

  • Allied Health Professions Australia (AHPA) Member Collaborative Forum to canvass issue of shared interest.  

  • Department of Health and Aged Care for a Q&A on the new Aged Care Act.  

  • Queensland Government to discuss outcomes of the 2023 review of the operation of the workers compensation scheme and amendments to the new Workers Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003

We also convened the following OTA National Reference Groups: Aged Care, NDIS, Mental Health and DVA.
