Insurance

Why do Occupational Therapists need Professional Indemnity Insurance?

You help consumers develop, recover, and improve their lives, working with them to reach their goals and live independently. Even though you’re doing your best to help others, there’s still the risk of a consumer accusing you of professional negligence. A claim like this could cost your business and have you paying through the nose in legal fees.

Occupational Therapy Indemnity insurance includes cover for malpractice, breach of duty, professional misconduct, professional negligence, and mistakes or omissions claims made against you.

Mandatory Insurance

If you're practising, you need Professional Indemnity insurance arrangements in place that meet the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia standard.^^

Why do Occupational Therapists Need Public Liability Insurance?

It’s easy for someone to slip and break a leg or damage their property on your premises. It may not be your fault, but you can still be held liable and taken to court.

Occupational Therapy Liability insurance provides cover for legal liabilities if a member of the public makes a claim that they were injured, or damage was caused to their property because of your business dealings or on your premises.
