This group aims to:
- Provide a forum to disuss/share knowledge of innocative and new assistive technologies/equipment
- Facilitate nerworking and sharing of resources
- Provide and promote ongoing professional development to encourage up to date knowledge of the latest research and information on best practice guidelines
- Discuss advice for clinical justification for funding of products
MEETING DETAILS
TOPIC:
Frameworks to support assistive technology decision-making to support access to the curriculum for students with additional needs.
This presentation will explore four different decision-making frameworks that can assist assistive technology selection to support student outcomes. The frameworks include an access hierarchy, the SETT framework (Zabala, 2005), the Toolbelt Theory (Socol, 2010) and Red Yellow Green – a traffic light analogy (Erickson and Koppenhaver, 2020). Case studies will highlight their clinical utility.
