Any member of Occupational Therapy Australia who works in Occupational Justice, or who has an interest in the area, is eligible to attend these meetings.
The Occupational Justice Interest Group aims to:
- Discuss current issues, practice and research related to occupational justice, social justice and human rights.
- Develop a support network amongst occupational therapists with skills, knowledge, resources or an interest in justice and human rights; as well as those working with marginalised populations and in poverty affected areas.
- Consult with the Association and the relevant government departments to develop guidelines, and provide expertise for consultation on aged care issues and policy.
- Provide/promote ongoing professional development to encourage up-to-date knowledge regarding occupational justice, political practice and human rights, which can be incorporated into a variety of fields of practice.
