This document is intended to support practitioners to understand the Medicare programs available to occupational therapists, their eligibility requirements including endorsement, any treatment guidelines associated with each, and where to find additional information.

Position Statement: Bed Sticks, Poles and Rails (2020)

The Bed Sticks, Poles and Rails Position Statement informs services of the requirement for occupational therapist involvement in the prescription of bed sticks/poles and rails and aims to assist occupational therapists in understanding and mitigating risks associated with bed stick/pole and rail use.

Consultation on General Foundational Supports

OTA welcomed the Report of the Independent Review of the NDIS, and its recognition of the obvious need for more support services in Australian communities for those who cannot access the NDIS.
