Webinar 7: Sensory Modulation Program Component 5b: Environmental Enhancements: Sensory kits & Carts
SESSION OVERVIEW
This OTA webinar will provide an overview of Tina Champagne’s Sensory Modulation Program Component 5b: Environmental Enhancements: Sensory Kits & Carts focuses on how to support consumers in the use of sensory supportive strategies as mobile, accessible tools for therapeutic use across settings and age ranges. Tina Champagne will discuss how to co-create personalised sensory kits to support occupational participation for individuals and groups, especially in settings where sensory supportive spaces may not be feasible or readily accessible. This session will showcase examples from different populations and environments, providing practical tips for ensuring that kits and carts align with individual’s sensory modulation-related needs and occupational goals. Participants will gain insights into how sensory kits and carts can be used to enhance occupational participation and to support prevention, crisis intervention, and supportive daily routines.
Learning Objectives: At the end of this session, you will be able to:
- Design sensory kits and carts tailored to various populations (children, adults, older adults) and settings (community, inpatient, residential).
- Implement sensory kits and carts in clinical practice to promote occupational engagement and sensory regulation.
- Evaluate the use of sensory kits and carts in achieving individualized and programmatic therapeutic goals.
- Apply strategies for collaborating with family, carers, and support people to enhance occupational participation and daily life through meaningful use of sensory kits and sensory cart.
