Presenter

Michelle Taylor is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers. She has led the introduction of Motivational Interviewing (MI) in services through education and training, clinical practice, resource development and supervision. Michelle has over 25 years experience working as an Occupational Therapist in the areas of mental health, substance use disorders and complex care. She brings expertise in MI, Sensory Approaches, and Trauma Informed Care. She has worked in Australia and the United Kingdom as a clinician, clinical educator, consultant and professional lead. Michelle has a Master of Arts (Research) in which she explored stories, fear and empowerment. Michelle has a particular interest in integrating and adapting MI to meet the diverse needs of individuals and services. She explores how MI, as an approach requiring considerable levels of executive functioning, can be made more accessible with an occupational lens.
