Dr Shinead Borkovic

Senior Lecturer and Course Coordinator, La Trobe University

Dr Shinead Borkovic is a Senior Lecturer in Occupational Therapy and Course Coordinator of the Bachelor of Occupational Therapy Honours. Her research includes cultural safety and responsiveness in health care and higher education, professional identity development and leadership, healthcare access, workforce development and service evaluation. Shinead has presented nationally and internationally at allied health and education conferences, published several articles and book chapters, and serves on several professional and educational committees to support program accreditation and TEQSA compliance. She is a doctoral and Honours research supervisor and academic coordinator for Industry projects having worked with several agencies across the health sector to conduct quality assurance, expand services and build staff capacity. Shinead is interested in contemporary occupational therapy practice, promoting the meaningful impact of occupational therapists on communities and populations and empowering therapists to connect across borders.
