Workshop Overview
With the introduction of the strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, occupational therapists are uniquely positioned to lead meaningful change in aged care settings. This practical, OT-focused workshop is designed to equip practitioners with the knowledge, confidence and tools to align their everyday work with the new standards—particularly Standard 5 (Clinical Care) and Standard 7 (The Residential Community).
Through real-world examples drawn from both residential and home care settings, you'll explore how to embed quality standards into practice in tangible, OT-led ways. From enhancing mealtimes to fostering meaningful engagement and delivering clinical care that upholds dignity and personhood, this session will help you translate policy into purposeful action.
You’ll walk away with strategies to:
· Understand the intent and practical application of the new standards
· Lead interventions that promote quality of life and clinical excellence
· Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to embed sustainable change
Whether you’re new to aged care or seeking to refresh your approach, this workshop will help you demonstrate the value of occupational therapy in delivering care that is respectful, personalised and impactful.
