Program Overview

As occupational therapists, we are key to designing environments that enhance the independence and wellbeing of people living with dementia. This webinar is specifically designed to equip you gain the knowledge and skills to create environments that support people living with dementia in both residential and community settings.

  • How environments affect and impact behaviour: Gain a deeper understanding of how the physical environment influences the experiences and behaviours of people living with dementia. 

  • Skills to assess everyday settings: Learn how to analyse various environments to identify strengths and challenges specific to people living with dementia. 

  • Application of design principles: Discover practical ways to apply best practice design principles to create supportive environments that enable people with dementia to live more independently. 

  • Strategies to effect change: Reflect on how you can drive positive change in the environments you work in to better support the needs of people living with dementia.
