This evidence-informed session will exploring how occupational therapists can use neuro-affirming, practical strategies and real-world case studies to enhance participation and outcomes for individuals with motor coordination difficulties across school, home, and community settings.
Program Overview
This engaging interactive session will explore how occupational therapists can enhance participation for individuals with motor coordination difficulties through various intervention approaches and what is most impactful to ensure improved outcomes.
Evidence-based strategies, practical tools, and neuro-affirming approaches that go beyond traditional remediation will be discussed. Using real-world case studies this session will highlight how OTs can address barriers, adapt environments, and empower individuals to thrive in school, home, and community settings.
The insights from research experts and clinicians working with families who have specific difficulties with motor coordination will be shared.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Explain the impact of motor coordination difficulties on participation across school, home, and community settings.
- Identify evidence-based strategies and neuro-affirming approaches that go beyond traditional remediation.
- Apply practical tools and environmental adaptations to reduce barriers and enhance engagement for individuals with motor coordination challenges.
- Analyse real-world case studies to determine effective intervention approaches and their outcomes.
- Understand the role of occupational therapists in empowering individuals and families through collaborative, strengths-based practices.
