OVERVIEW

The OTA Sexual Wellbeing Interest Group welcomes all occupational therapists interested in sexuality, regardless of experience or knowledge level. Grounded in the World Health Organization’s (2006) definition, the group explores sexuality as a broad concept encompassing sexual activity, pleasure, intimacy, reproduction, gender identity, sexual orientation, and more. Recognizing that clients express sexuality uniquely and that it is shaped by various health determinants, the group aims to promote understanding, support, and client-centred practice in this vital area. As research and practice in sexual wellbeing continue to grow, the group serves as a platform for sharing knowledge, fostering discussion, and enhancing clinical practice.

TOPIC: 

Practical Sexuality Resources for Occupational Therapists: Developing Tools for Inclusive Practice 

This presentation will provide information on several resources that have been developed to support clinical practice such as the Cliterate model, and education tools related to sexual responses, as well as perimenopause. 

Bridget Brennan, one of the co-convenors of this group, will be facilitating this meeting, which will be her final meeting as co-convenor. We’d love for members to join us to celebrate her contribution and give her a warm and well-deserved send-off.
