OVERVIEW
The aim of the National Occupational Therapy Dementia Network (NOTDN) is to facilitate connections between academic and clinician OTs who have an interest in dementia. The network members will contribute individual perspectives, skills, and expertise to support continued advancement of OT dementia practice in Australia. The network is an opportunity to bring together clinical and academic OTs to develop both streams to advance best practice, promote and translate research for people impacted by dementia and the occupational therapy workforce.

Jessica Lane
Presenter (Occupational Therapist)
Jess is a senior Occupational Therapist currently working in the Memory and Cognition Clinic at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney. She has been working over the past 11 years in public health in both rehabilitation and aged care settings (inpatient and community based). Her current role involves home visit and clinic-based care in which she provides individualised interventions post diagnosis of dementia or other neurological conditions across all ages. Jess has a focus on establishing routines, setting up environments, educating and using assistive technology to maximise the independence and safety of her patients in their homes with the help of their care partners. She is also passionate about maximising brain health and educating families and their carers about how to optimise brain function during all stages of cognitive impairment.

Mardi George
Presenter (Occupational Therapist)
Mardi is an Occupational Therapist with 28 years’ experience working in the public health service across hospital and community roles – primarily in community rehabilitation and community outreach. Her current role as Clinical Lead for the Community Occupational Therapy team within the Tasmanian Health Service, enables her to provide both direct clinical services and lead service improvement with the staff and broader OT team. Mardi has completed a Master’s Degree in Clinical Rehabilitation and Clinical redesign graduate certificate 2021 both of which have enhanced her skill and knowledge in delivering high quality services to people with complex needs within their own environment and shape the service to both clinical and organisational needs. Mardi is passionate about working with clients with neurodegenerative conditions and their carers in their own homes and delivering the high quality community-based services.
