Slip Reducing Coating Products: Practical Solutions for OTs

Join Jelmer from Stellmann for an informative session on slip resistance and post-installation slip reduction solutions. This presentation will explore the principles of slip resistance, current Australian testing standards, and the range of solutions available to reduce slip risks in existing environments. 

Drawing on CSIRO-tested non-slip coating products used across Australia, Jelmer will discuss the practical considerations involved in selecting and prescribing slip reduction solutions. The session will also examine the differences between laboratory testing and real-world performance, helping occupational therapists make informed recommendations with greater confidence. 

Topics covered include: 

• An overview of slip resistance and why it matters 

• Australian standards and slip resistance testing methods 

• Available slip reduction solutions 

• Stellmann's CSIRO-tested non-slip coating system and how it differs from other products 

• Practical application in real-world settings 

• Key considerations and common challenges, including glossy tile surfaces and adhesion testing
