The Year You Thrive – A Burnout Prevention Blueprint for OTs

The Year You Thrive – A Burnout Prevention Blueprint for OTs

This session will provide occupational therapists with practical strategies to prevent burnout, manage stress, and sustain wellbeing in their high-demand, complex roles. Participants will create a personalised Burnout Action Plan to support them to reconnect with professional purpose, build resilience, and thrive in their careers.

Program Overview

Across Australia, occupational therapists are navigating unprecedented pressure—rising service demand, workforce shortages, administrative complexity and moral distress are reshaping the realities of practice. The Year You Thrive; A Burnout Prevention Blueprint for OTs  is a dedicated space for OTs to pause, recalibrate and build a personalised, sustainable plan to protect wellbeing and take care of themselves as the pressures of work mount.

What You Will Learn:

In this interactive and evidence-informed session, you will:

  • Build your personalised Burnout Action Plan, including what sustains you as an OT, the factors placing you at risk, and a tailored prevention and recovery roadmap.
  • Understand how current workforce pressures—including chronic shortages, recruitment and retention challenges, and rising service demand—impact wellbeing and how to buffer against them.
  • Explore frameworks and protective structures to keep your professional identity despite often restrictive policy environments.
  • Learn strategies to strengthen your resilience and energy management and reduce overwhelm

By attending this session you will:

  • Gain practical tools and strategies to prevent burnout and manage stress in a high-demand profession.
  • Develop a personalised Burnout Action Plan tailored to your career stage, practice setting, and values.
  • Leave with a clear, actionable roadmap to thrive professionally and personally in the evolving OT workforce
