Workshop Overview

As occupational therapists, we often feel responsible for driving outcomes. When we adopt a coach approach that empowers families, everything shifts. This evidence-based workshop will guide you in using coaching strategies that position parents as capable partners in their child’s development. You’ll learn how to build stronger connections, ask purposeful questions, and support families to take ownership of their goals. The result is more engaged parents, better child outcomes, and more sustainable interventions. Practitioners report increased confidence, stronger relationships, and a renewed sense of satisfaction in their work.

This program is also a powerful resource for team leaders who want to enhance their leadership coaching skills and support their teams to embed best practice. You'll learn how to strengthen team cohesion, improve collaborative problem-solving, and build a shared language around coaching. The workshop combines experiential, team-based, and real-time learning, so whether you're a therapist, a leader, or both, you’ll leave with practical tools you can apply immediately. Improve the way you work with families, strengthen your team culture, and align your service with contemporary early childhood intervention principles.
