Member Forum: Foundational Supports
This Member Forum on foundational supports will provide an update about the status of foundational supports and the work undertaken by OTA to support and advocate for the profession.
Program Overview
The NDIS Review final report, released in late 2023, identified a need to establish a new system of foundational supports outside of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to improve the availability of supports for people with disability.
The Review proposed focusing on key cohorts including children and young people with developmental delay and disability, and people with psychosocial disability.
Recognising the potential impact, and opportunities, for occupational therapists arising from the proposed new system, OTA commenced a project to develop policy positions and undertake advocacy work based on input from experts within the profession.
This Member Forum on foundational supports will provide an update on the status of foundational supports and the work undertaken by OTA to support and advocate for the profession.
