This OTA webinar will provide an overview of Tina Champagne’s Sensory Modulation Program Component 2: Sensorimotor Activities with Individuals. Participants will explore and learn about the application of common sensorimotor activities to enable occupational participation when working with individuals across a variety of age ranges and practice settings. Tina Champagne will guide you through a variety of interactive sensorimotor activities, whilst summarising the underlying neuroscience and links to attachment and trauma informed care, and occupational participation.
Learning Objectives: At the end of this session, you will be able to:
- Describe the therapeutic value of the use of sensorimotor activities with individuals
- Adapt and apply sensorimotor activities for individuals across age ranges and practice settings.
- Identify a variety of resources that support the use of sensorimotor activities with individuals as part of OT practice.
- Identify how sensorimotor activities are used to support occupational participation
- Educate and collaborate with family, carers and support people about sensorimotor activities to enhance occupational participation and daily life.

Tina Champagne
Dr. Tina Champagne is the CEO of Cutchins Programs for Children and Families and an international consultant for Champagne Conferences & Consultation. She has specific expertise in the areas of trauma, attachment, sensory and trauma informed approaches, and organizational change. In 2003, she became the first OT to present with the U.S. National Office of Technical Assistance on sensory approaches, trauma informed care and restraint reduction, where her work became part of the Six Core Strategies. She has numerous publications, including two books, numerous book chapters, continuing education and research articles, and she is a reviewer for OT and nursing journals. She has received many awards for her work including the 2023 Award of Merit, the highest honor from the American Occupational Therapy Association.
