This Member Forum will explore key developments in the mental health sector and its impact on OT practice. The Forum will cover topics such as the Mental Health Capability Framework, government advocacy, and opportunities for OTs to sustain and develop their practice in mental health.

Program Overview

 

With the ever-changing landscape in the health and disability sector, OTA is pleased to host this Member Forum to support you to make sense of the mental health sector for occupational therapists. This event is essential for all OTs delivering services under Mental Health.  We will cover key factors that directly impact your practice. 

Stay informed about the latest developments in mental health and discover opportunities to develop your practice.

Key Topics Include: 

  • Understanding the Mental Health Capability Framework, Mental Health Endorsement and Mental Health Foundations Modules as they relate to OTA Mental Health Strategy and OTA Workforce Development Plan

  • Understanding key opportunities developed from the OTA Workforce Deevlopment Plan for mental health OTs to support and sustain their practice. 

  • Exploring how the OTA Mental Health Strategy and key opportunities focus our advocacy to government and stakeholder engagement

  • The future: what we have learned including the role mental health OT’s offer to government schemes sustainability. 

  • Mental Health & Well-Being Check In – What supports exist for me?

A certificate of attendance will be issued upon completion of the full course. Please allow up to 48 hours for the certificate to appear in your CPD tracker. 

 

RECORDING ACCESS

This session will be recorded and shared with all registrants in their OTA Account, with 12 weeks access.

REGISTRATION FEES

This is a free member event for Occupational Therapy Australia members only.

Members must be logged in with username and password to register.

Mental Health Professional Practice Advisor, OTA

Catherine Daly is the Mental Health Professional Practice Advisor at OTA with many years of experience as an Occupational Therapist. She has worked extensively with infants, children and families requiring specialist assessment and intervention for psychosocial, mental health and developmental difficulties. Catherine's experience in public mental health and non-government organisations includes community, hospital-based, consultation liaison, and acute settings as an infant mental health therapist, occupational therapist, case manager, and in senior leadership roles.
