Exhibition to open to public at Occupational Therapy Australia National Conference

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY AUSTRALIA MEDIA RELEASE 25.02.19

Members of the public will once again be able to attend the exhibition at Occupational Therapy Australia’s (OTA) 28th National Conference, to be held in Sydney from 10-12 July 2019.

Following positive feedback at the most recent National Conference in Perth in 2017, the exhibition will be open to the general public on Thursday 11 and Friday 12 July from 10.45am to 12.15pm. There is no cost to attend.

“The exhibition is open to visitors of all ages, including those with a disability, seniors and their families, friends and carers,” OTA CEO Samantha Hunter said.

“We already have more than 70 confirmed exhibitors, many of which will be showcasing the latest products and services designed to enable independent living. These include assistive technology, home modifications, mobility solutions, modified motor vehicles and other supports in the areas of disability, paediatrics, palliative care and rehabilitation.

“This is a great opportunity for exhibitors to invite potential clients and customers along to view the products they have on display and find out more about their benefits,” Ms Hunter said.

A full list of exhibitors is available here. Those who are interested in attending can register online to gain free admission to the exhibition. Tickets can be obtained by clicking here.

The exhibition will be held in Hall 1, Level 1, International Convention Centre, 14 Darling Drive, Sydney NSW 2000.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Together Towards Tomorrow”, reflecting the dynamic nature of contemporary occupational therapy practice. Around 1200 delegates from Australia and around the world are expected to attend.

Occupational therapists are allied health professionals whose role is to enable their clients to participate in meaningful and productive activities.

Occupational therapists provide services such as physical and mental health therapy, vocational rehabilitation, chronic disease management, assessments for assistive technology and home modifications, and key disability supports and services.
