Seeking Member Feedback: Aged Care Worker Regulation Scheme Consultation Paper

The Commonwealth Department of Health is exploring a registration scheme for aged care workers. A Consultation Paper has been developed to elicit stakeholder preferences and concerns around any features of a potential model.

OTA is concerned that the scheme has the potential to be a costly and time consuming imposition on occupational therapists who work in aged care. As registered allied health professionals, practising occupational therapists are already compliant with AHPRA’s strict registration standards—this raises the question why must they be burdened with an additional registration scheme?

To share your thoughts and contribute to OTA's submission, members are invited to send their feedback on the Consultation Paper to by Monday 15 June.

Members are also encouraged to submit their own response by uploading a written submission or completing the online survey. Learn more and access the Consultation Paper here.
