Extra Allied Health Care in Aged Care Facilities
The Federal Government has announced significant extra allied health care for those living in residential aged care facilities, in line with recommendations from the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety’s report on COVID-19.
Significantly, this includes extra occupational therapy sessions under Better Access to Mental Health (BAMH) and extra occupational therapy sessions under a new MBS Chronic Disease Management item.
OTA is being briefed by Government on the detail of the additional sessions and will inform members of these details as soon as possible.
