Key Thinkers Forum – Racism in Health: Free Online Webinar
The Poche Centre for Indigenous Health, University of Sydney are hosting a free online webinar addressing systemic racism in health on 7 July 2021 at 1pm to 3.30pm.
Whether you are new graduate or advanced in your career, being actively aware of racist attitudes and unconscious biases is a critical step towards culturally competency and working safely alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
The current models of practice are not working to effectively “Close the Gap”. Despite a growing willingness and need to consider newly proposed models of practice, there remains a deep-seated resistance to identifying and addressing institutional and systemic racism and racist attitudes, including unconscious biases held by individuals. How can we get the "R" word on every agenda?
Facilitated by Prof. Tom Calma AO, Panel Members include:
- Carmen Parter
- Karen Mundine
- Leilani Darwin
- Raymond Lovett
