We are calling for articles for the Winter 2025 issue of Connections to showcase our members’ expertise and important developments in occupational therapy.
Connections is our print and digital quarterly magazine, and is a unique opportunity for members to connect and communicate with peers in our passionate OTA community.
We’re calling for member articles on topics such as:
- Insightful research or study results
- Industry trends or advancements in technology and practice
- Innovations in education and training
- Developments in specific OT fields, like mental health or aged care.
Submission guidelines
The deadline for submissions for the Winter 2025 Issue is 9 May 2025.
Article length and word count
- The word count for one-page articles ranges from approximately 450 words to 650 words (maximum).
- For larger feature member articles, a guide is approximately 1,300 words for a 2-page spread.
- Sub-headings are encouraged to help structure the article.
Content and tone
The tone of articles in Connections is clear, confident and approachable—think ‘smart casual’. Articles are for a national audience and should be relevant beyond the publication date.
Imagery
Please supply two or more topic photos with captions to bring your story to life.
If people are included, first seek their permission to publish the photo.
Include a brief ‘About the Author’ section at the end of the article, including one to two sentences that offer an overview/background of the author. Please ensure all photos are a hi-resolution.
Your experience and insights can inspire others!
OTA reserves editorial oversight to approve articles and edit for clarity and brevity.
Connections isn’t the Australian Occupational Therapy Journal. While references are encouraged, the aim of articles is to engage, educate and inspire and are less academic.
If you have any questions or would like to float an article idea, please email us at communications@otaus.com.au.
