Working with schools

PRESENTERS:
Olivia Jackson and Jacqui Etherington

Olivia has 35 years experience working in paediatric practice, supporting children and young adults with a wide range of needs, and using a variety of models of service delivery. She has worked in both health and disability government sectors, and has owned and operated her own private practice since 2004. She employs a team of occupational therapists, allied health assistants and a speech pathologist. She has particular interest in supporting children and their families who present with complex needs, as well as school-based occupational therapy practice. Olivia is contracted by Occupational Therapy Australia as a CPD presenter of paediatric content, and is a PhD candidate at The University of Sydney, with her research topic focused on mentorship and its professional development role in paediatric community practice
 
Jacqui Etherington has worked as an occupational therapist for over 25 years with a focus on paediatrics for the past 20 years in school, community and university settings. She is currently a facilitator of the OT In Schools Special Interest Group. Jacqui has worked with a multidisciplinary team  providing a tiered model of support in schools with therapy assistants and has also worked as a clinical educator with occupational therapy students providing Occupational Therapy in schools. Jacqui is currently employed by the ACT Education Directorate.
