Tamar Ben-Barak

Tamar’s career has had an early childhood focus in early intervention, special education and community health. Moving to mental health, she worked in residential aged care and has volunteered through peer-support networks with women with complex trauma and abusive relationships, using a clinical understanding of sensory modulation to support their emotional regulation, coping strategies, function and participation. Since 2020 Tamar has worked in Mercy Mental Health’s Acute Inpatient Units.

Tamar is in the process of enrolling in a post-graduate degree at Monash University. Her thesis will examine the SELECT’s efficacy in supporting vocational recovery goals.
