RECORDED WEBINAR SUMMARY

SEXUALITY, INTIMACY AND RELATIONSHIPS: STRATEGIES FOR OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS WORKING WITH PEOPLE LIVING WITH CHRONIC DISEASE AND DISABILITY

Less than 25% of health professionals provide opportunities for people living with chronic disease or disability to discuss sexuality. The aim of this recorded webinar is to increase knowledge, confidence and foundational skills of occupational therapists in addressing sexuality, intimacy and relationships.

It will include a mixture of information provision, active reflection, discussion and planning. Topics will include common myths and misunderstanding about the impact of chronic disease on sexuality and sexual expression; how to start a difficult conversation; handling difficult questions and how to evaluate practice. Participants will also be supported to identify change strategies that can support them to implement their learning in practice.

SUITABLE FOR

Students and OTs in their early career stage.
