Policy and Advocacy Compensation Schemes Update January 2025
Safe Work Australia – Taking Action Framework
OTA recently provided a submission to Safe Work Australia regarding the review of the Taking Action: A Best Practice Framework for the Management of Psychological Claims in the Australian Workers’ Compensation Sector. OTA's submission emphasised the importance of holistic, person-centred approaches, advocated for greater recognition of mental health OTs, and highlighted key challenges such as variability across jurisdictions and employer engagement. We also proposed opportunities for standardisation, expanded training, and cross-sector collaboration to improve psychological claims management. OTA will continue to advocate for the inclusion of OT expertise in this critical area.
