STRATEGICALLY PLAN YOUR PRIVATE PRACTICE

COURSE SUMMARY

Many occupational therapists (OTs) take advantage of the opportunity to start their own practice, some as sole traders and others with aims of developing a larger practice.

This resource provides a structured framework to help you strategically plan your private practice business. This considers key small business strategy fundamentals with reference to industry specific information including:

  • Defining your vision, purpose and values.
  • Analysing your current situation by assessing risks and opportunities.
  • Establishing your services, team, branding and policies.
  • Establishing a financial model, setting a 12-month budget, and managing cash flow
  • Creating your strategic plan and process for measuring productivity.

There is a corresponding workbook that will prompt you to consider how each topic relates to your private practice business and situation & includes useful templates, such as a budget template & strategic action plan template.

The course is a self-directed resource that you can work through at your own pace, as you need it.
