Introducing OTA’s Divisional Manager for NSW and ACT, Karen Brown
I would like to introduce myself as your Divisional Manager for NSW and ACT. I join Occupational Therapy Australia with 20 years’ experience working in health in South Australia and now live in Sydney with my family.
I'm an occupational therapist who has held clinical, project and health management roles, with a primary focus on adults and the older population. I’ve also held a number of voluntary positions for OTA in South Australia to support and connect with the local OT community.
I’ve worked in emergency departments, acute and rehabilitation hospitals as well as providing services in the community. I was the project manager for the South Australian Statewide Rehabilitation Clinical Network for two years and the primary author of the Statewide Rehabilitation Service Plan. I’ve held roles across occupational therapy and allied health with my most recent role managing aged care programs focusing on hospital substitution, short term supported residential care and transition to the community.
That’s enough about me—now I want to hear from you. What are your passions? What concerns and issues are limiting your impact to support others? What opportunities do you see to grow OT, both locally and nationally?
I’m excited to be joining the OTA team and look forward to meeting and working with occupational therapists across NSW and ACT to represent, support and advocate for you.
