Important progress on NDIS Amendment Bill

Published: Friday 28 June 2024

Yesterday the Senate formally voted to refer the National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Getting the NDIS Back on Track No. 1) Bill 2004 to Committee. The bill is referred back to the Senate Community Affairs Legislation Committee including any circulated amendments to the bill and the positions of state and territory governments. The Committee’s report is due 05/08/2024.

This is a positive outcome and OTA has been advocating strongly for a pause in the bill’s progress to allow for further scrutiny. The further review from the Senate Committee will allow time for hearings with state and territory governments and other stakeholders.

We will continue to keep our members informed on further developments.
