OTAs Feedback to ReturnToWorkSA Accepted

Occupational Therapy Australia provided written feedback on 10 March 2022 to ReturntoWorkSA (RTWSA) on the annual review and proposed changes to Occupational Therapy fees.

While OTA was supportive of the proposed 3.8% increase, there were further observations and feedback provided regarding the fee schedule and policy. OTA have since received written feedback from RTWSA, accepting the proposed changes, these are as follow:

Provision of treatment for psychological injuries recognised in fee schedule

Although there is nothing within the fee schedule that prevents an occupational therapist from providing treatment for a psychological injury, we understand that specific recognition is sought and we support this. We would like to continue to discuss this with you throughout FY2022-23 as a part of a broader piece of work on mental health services within the Return-to-Work Scheme.

Telehealth subsequent consultation

We support increasing the telehealth subsequent consultation fee to have parity with the face-to face equivalent. This will take effect from 1 July 2022.

Please refer to the letter and fee schedule for further detail.
