Allied health to be included in future review of Universities Accord

Following lobbying by OTA and other allied health peak bodies, we are pleased that Dr Helen Haines successfully moved an amendment to the Universities Accord Bill, recently passed in Federal Parliament. This amendment ensures a future review of the Bill, with a focus on expanding financial support for students undertaking courses that require university placements, including allied health programs.

OTA also appeared before a Senate Committee hearing, advocating for the inclusion of occupational therapy in the Commonwealth Student Placement Program, and continues to push for this through various channels.
